Dave Price first studied violin and piano, before discovering the endless sound-world of percussion. After a music degree at Durham University he received a three-year scholarship to study contemporary classical percussion with Stanislaw Skoczynski at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw. In 1999 he was invited to take part in the European Percussion Academy at the Aix-en-Provence festival, working closely with the leading exponents of French contemporary percussion music - Trio le Cercle, Percussions du Strasbourg and Ensemble Intercontemporain. Since returning to London in 2000, he has developed a career as a musician and composer, exploring a broad creative outlook.
Dave is an Associate Artist of the award-winning physical theatre company Gecko, who regularly tour shows to the world's leading theatre festivals; he composed original music for and performed in their recent production The Overcoat. He also works regularly with singer-songwriter Gwyneth Herbert, and is also a regular collaborator with pop group Aqualung.
In 2009 Dave was Musical Director on a special project at the Lyric Hammersmith working with a group of autistic children, filmed for a Channel 4 documentary called Young, Autistic and Stagestruck.
