Michele Deiana

Michele Deiana is an experimental, minimalist driven Italian composer based in London (UK). His work focuses on fundamental aspects behind personally influential concepts or stories, translating them into intense, intimate and highly emotional artistic journeys. Conceiving composition as a multi-disciplinary activity, he creates hybrid works that move across the worlds of music, cinema, and theater. Michele has enjoyed a distinguished and multifaceted academic career, studying in the Conservatories of Cagliari (in classical guitar, and harmony and counterpoint), Venice (BA & MA in Composition under the guidance of Corrado Pasquotti), and Birmingham (studying Composition as an Erasmus and scholarship holder, under the guidance of Dr. Michael Wolters).

His works have been performed and broadcasted at festivals, institutions, and radio stations, such as, Cheltenham Music Festival (UK), Spitalfields Music Festival (UK), RaiRadio3 (IT), La Biennale di Venezia (IT), Pinault Foundation (IT), MUTEK San Francisco (USA), Moving Body Festival (BG), Montréal International Festival of Films on Art (CA), ThinkThank® Birmingham Science Museum (UK), Los Angeles Lift-Off Festival (USA), Screen.Dance Festival (UK), amongst others.
