Trustees & Patrons
The Trustees have the collective role of governing the organisation; ensuring we fulfil our charitable purpose and providing oversight for our strategic and financial planning. They are recruited from across a number of professions, bringing a large range and level of skill and expertise.
NMC's Board of Trustees:
Jackie Newbould (Chair): Previously Executive Producer of BCMG, now runs a varied portfolio of arts production and management projects.
Raj Arumugam: Barrister with a broad commercial chancery practice and a keen interest in music, having gained his performance diploma in trumpet from the Royal Academy of Music.
Stephen Johns (Artistic Strategy Committee): Previously Vice-President Artists & Repertoire EMI Classics, now Artistic Director at Royal College of Music.
Richard Lee: Extensive experience in team leadership, strategic thinking, partnership building, comms and organizational management. He is currently Director of Fundraising at the national charity Crisis.
Chris Potts (Deputy Chair, Development Sub Committee): Arts & Business Consultant working with the Whitechapel Gallery, Art Fund and Tate Modern amongst others and with a wide knowledge of contemporary music.
Terence Sinclair: managing director of research at Citi Bank, with a background in investment management and investor relations, and strong business development skills. He is an experienced charity trustee, previously chairing Academy of Ancient Music, with a keen interest in classical music and contemporary classical music.
Lesley Baliga: a 30-year career as Finance Director/CFO, IT Project Manager, Consultant and Finance Professional. Has worked with an interesting and diverse range of commercial, public sector and charitable organization, with a recent focus on the charity sector. A Chartered Certified Accountant more recently completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma. Sits on several finance and audit committees and is also currently a trustee and treasurer of Disability Rights UK.
Freya Morgan: a current BPTC student at City University, London under an Inner Temple Major Scholarship. Her previous career was in the charity and arts sector with the British Council, British Film Institute and Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. Alongside her studying, she is working as a Database Officer with Reprieve. She previously studied on the MSc Performance Science programme at the Royal College of Music.
Emily Granozio: has worked in the classical music industry for 10 years, first as an agent for composers, conductors and instrumentalists at Rayfield Allied in London, before joining the Philharmonia Orchestra to manage Recordings and Projects. In 2020, she became part of the Edinburgh International Culture Summit team, and in 2021 moved to Hong Kong, being appointed Head of Culture and Events for the Alliance Française de Hong Kong.
