 NMC APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman, with immediate effect.

RICHARD SHOYLEKOV has a life-long interest in the arts and feels particularly strongly about the importance of fostering contemporary art and pushing boundaries in order to enhance culture. He is a Trustee of the Friends of the Courtauld Institute and has supported them on a range of operational and strategic issues, including planning and fundraising.

A lawyer by training, Richard is Company Secretary and General Counsel for Wolseley Plc and a trustee of the Wolseley Charitable Trust. Richard is incredibly enthusiastic about NMC, its history and aims for the future and will have a hands-on role, being particularly involved in expanding the charity’s fundraising capacity and in developing the organisation to meet the challenges ahead. “I am delighted to be working with NMC. It has a culture of excellence and people who are passionate about what they do.”

COLIN MATTHEWS (NMC’s Executive Producer) adds “NMC’s special position in the music world needs dedicated advocacy, and we couldn’t be happier to have found in Richard Shoylekov someone who combines professional expertise with a firm commitment to the new and challenging. His appointment means that we have an outstanding figure to lead us securely into the future”.
