Mike Vaughan

Mike Vaughan studied at Dartington College of Arts and Nottingham University and is currently Professor of Composition at Keele University.

His work consists of instrumental and electroacoustic works for a wide range of musical resources and have been programmed and broadcast worldwide. His interests are currently focused on combining both formal (algorithmic) and informal (intuitive) elements in performance, including improvisation, and the use of both non-western and 'early' instruments in new musical contexts that foreground musical 'identity'.
