On Friday 21 April, The Independent Society of Musicians (ISM), who are our partners on the Discover section of the website, are hosting The Empowered Musician: a one-day event to inspire and inform musicians through a mix of performance and panel discussions.

We highly recommend you check it out to gain insider knowledge from panels of industry experts, who will be exploring a range of fascinating topics, from emerging technologies (AI, NFTs, 5G), to your wellbeing. Be inspired by live music performances from London Sinfonietta and award-winning folk fusion band, Kabantu. And enjoy an in conversation with award-winning composer and conductor Debbie Wiseman OBE, as well as opportunities for networking over lunch and refreshments.

London Sinfonietta

Percussionists Oliver Lowe and Joseph Richards perform Steve Reich’s Clapping Music and Nagoya Marimbas. Oliver and Joseph are two of the finest percussionists in the country having worked with the BBC Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras as well as recording with, amongst others, Steve Reich, Pink Floyd, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), and Stewart Copeland (The Police).
