Together in Sound: Sharing Concert

Thursday 18 November

Leyton Great Hall
Adelaide Rd
E10 5NN

Concert starts: 6.30pm
Doors open: 6.00pm

An hour-long concert celebrating the world premiere of seven new pieces of music, written and performed by students in Waltham Forest. Featuring musicians from the Chineke! Orchestra (as seen on TV at the BBC Proms and at the Royal Festival Hall) performing alongside talented young musicians from across the borough.

About the project

Together in Sound is a partnership project between Chineke! Foundation, NMC Recordings and Waltham Forest Music Hub, supported by London Music Fund.

Bringing together Chineke! musicians, NMC composer James B. Wilson, and young musicians from two schools in Waltham Forest, since October the young people have been participating in weekly workshops and mentoring, through which they are creating new compositions for themselves to perform.

This project will culminate in the sharing concert on the 18th of November at Leyton Great Hall, in which the students will perform their new works alongside Chineke! musicians. The pieces will also be recorded by NMC sound engineer David Lefeber, with the young people creating a digital release complete with album art, programme notes, and publicity, with guidance from NMC.

We are grateful to the following funders for their generous support of this project
