Together in Sound

Together in Sound was a partnership project between Chineke! Foundation, NMC Recordings and Waltham Forest Music Hub, supported by London Music Fund.

Bringing together Chineke! musicians, NMC composer James B. Wilson, and young musicians from two schools in Waltham Forest, in Autumn 2021 the young people participated in weekly workshops and mentoring, through which they created new compositions for themselves to perform.

This project culminated in a sharing concert on 18 November at Leyton Great Hall, in which the students performed their new works alongside Chineke! musicians. The pieces were also recorded by NMC sound engineer David Lefeber, with the young people creating a digital release complete with album art, programme notes, and publicity, with guidance from NMC.
