Helen Sprott

Helen has spent her career in music.  Following an early career break with publisher Faber and Faber where she was appointed Commissioning Editor, Music Books, Helen has gone on to leadership roles in broadcast television (she was an award-winning Commissioning Editor with Channel  4 Television) and in orchestral administration, as Managing Director of the Philharmonia Orchestra.  For 12 years, Helen was Arts Council England’s Director, Music, first in London then nationally, overseeing public investment in music and music education. Helen has worked as an independent recruitment consultant, advising arts organisations on senior executive appointments, and is an Associate with Not-for-Profit recruitment specialists, Execucare.  In January 2020, Helen was appointed to the Board of St Martin in the Fields Limited; in December 2020, she joins the Board of the Academy of Ancient Music.

Ellie Wilson

Eleanor Wilson

Eleanor (Ellie) Wilson is NMC's General Manager, overseeing the day to day management of the record label and leading on Production, Sales, Marketing and Artistic. Loves hearing new recordings for the first time, analysing sales/marketing stats, and is a big fan of Adobe design software. Hates the time sink that is email!
Born in East London, Ellie is a composer and a violinist. Recent projects include an artist residency at Epping Forest and composing the score for Shakespeare's Globe productions of Henry VI and Richard III.

Eleanor is currently on maternity leave.

Alex Wright

Alex Wright

Alex Wright is responsible for NMC’s fundraising, looking after relationships with trusts, public bodies, and individuals. He also oversees the organisation’s Education projects and partnerships, bringing its ever-expanding catalogue of recordings to new audiences.
Graduating with a music degree from the University of Sheffield in 2011, Alex previously worked for BCMG and Northern Ballet. An avid contemporary music fan, erstwhile composer and lapsed pianist, he has a particular love of electronic music and is a founding Trustee of arts education charity Hand Of.

Joanna Ward

Joanna Ward

Joanna is NMC’s Development and Projects Assistant, helping Alex with fundraising and education projects. Joanna is from Newcastle upon Tyne, and moved to London in 2019 to pursue a Masters in Composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As well as creating new music, she is also a performer of and writer about music; her research is focussed on radical and liberatory models of musical / sonic creativity, with a particular interest in educational contexts. In most of her spare time she can be found lurking in East London’s experimental music venues, but in her non-musical time, she likes to read, to cook, to do killer sudoku, and to swim (preferably in a London lido).

Sam Olivier

Sam Olivier

Sam is NMC's Recordings & Marketing Manager, delivering all recording, production and marketing activities. He previously worked for St John's Smith Square and Southbank Sinfonia, but could no longer ignore his love for all things New Music – and wanted to be part of an organisation with fewer S's in their name. Loves the seemingly infinite approaches to creating music, hates being caught in the rain while cycling.
At weekends Sam can be found either watching or playing rugby with his local club and continuing his exploration of East London coffee shops.

Kate Walker

Kate Walker

Kate is NMC’s Label Assistant, helping with all things marketing, recording, sales, and supporting the team more generally.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a music degree, Kate headed down to London to study at Goldsmiths where she focussed on electronic music and gender. She joined NMC after working for Southbank Sinfonia, and she loves music of pretty much every style and genre. In her free time Kate dabbles in DJing, writing, and plays trumpet in a punk band.
